Rental Party

Guests at Nkanyi House are limited to those listed on the signed rental agreement. The number of guests is limited to six. The stated and agreed occupancy figure includes all persons irrespective of age. Exceeding the number of stated and agreed persons may result in immediate eviction without refund, or a $100 per guest per night charge at the discretion of The Owner.

Payment

A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking with a signed rental agreement in order to confirm the reservation. The remaining payment is due 60 days before arrival.

Damage Deposit

A damage deposit of $300 USD is due with the final payment, 60 days prior to arrival. Failure to pay the damage deposit and final payment will result in cancellation of the booking with no refund of the initial deposit.

Cancellation Policy

If Guest wishes to cancel his/her reservation, the deposit will be refunded as follows:

  • 90% if cancelled 90 days or more prior to the Check-in Date
  • 50% if cancelled 60-90 days prior to the Check-in Date
  • 0% if cancelled less than 60 days prior to Check-in

Liability

The owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest.

The Owner is not liable, nor will provide a refund, for any stoppage of electrical services caused by extreme weather or other circumstances beyond his control. Similarly, there will be no refunds for inclement weather, changes in water levels, conditions at neighboring properties, or any nuisance afforded by the natural elements of the location such as flying insects or the animal population.

We encourage guests to purchase travel insurance.

House Rules

Smoking is allowed in outdoor living areas only. Failure to comply with this rule may result in an additional $100 USD cleaning fee.

Daytime guests are limited to those residing in other Zandspruit Estate homes. At no time are outside visitors allowed to enter the Zandspruit Estate.

Noise levels should not cause a nuisance to other residents of the estate.

Keep the property and all furnishings in good order. Breakages, loss or damage to the property or its contents is to be payable by the guest.

Only use appliances for their intended uses.

The guest must report any inoperative or defective equipment to the owner or property manager promptly. The owner will make every reasonable effort to have repairs made as soon as possible; however, there are limited service contractors in Hoedspruit. While every attempt will be made to ensure that all the advertised equipment and appliances are in working order at the commencement of a rental period, no reduction of rent; rebate; or refund will be issued for a mechanical failure of air conditioning, dishwasher, washer, dryer, TV or other appliances.

Pets are NOT allowed in the home at any time.

Parking: Parking is limited to 2 vehicles. Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Parking on the road is not permitted. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.

Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, maid service is not included in the rental rate for rentals of less than one week. Rentals of one week or greater will have weekly maid service. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the house.

Swimming Pool: Children are not permitted to use the pool without adult supervision. The pool is not fenced. When using the pool, remember there are risks associated with this facility. Use at your own risk.

Fireplace: The fireplace is wood burning. Guest must insure that any fires are out prior to leaving the house or going to bed.

Braai: There is both a wood/charcoal and propane gas braai. Guest must insure that flames are extinguished and the propane valve turned off when not in use.

Boma (firepit): Fires in the boma should not be built so large that the flames extend above the wall of the fire pit, so as to insure that there is no risk of igniting the nearby trees or bush. Guest must insure that fires are completely extinguished prior to leaving the property or going to bed.

Water and Septic: The house is on a septic system. The mineral content in the water is high. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. do not flush anything other than toilet paper. No feminine hygiene products should be flushed at any time. If it is found that items other than toilet paper have been flushed and clog the septic system, guests may be charged damages of up to $500 USD.

Check-out procedure: Prior to check-out, guests are required to do the following:

  • Empty the fridge and freezer of any food items.
  • Place any dirty dishes in the dishwasher and run the cycle.
  • Turn off all lights, fans and air conditioning.
  • Be sure that all doors and windows are locked.
